Rosey Acres Winery opened October 1, 2005, Located 6 miles east of Des Moines on highway 163 and 3 miles south. We are a small winery operated on a small parcel of land behind the houses of co-owners Al and Sherry Meek and Tom and Karen Diltz. The co-owners are long time friends and always enjoyed making home made wines and decided to venture into commercial wine making. There is a 1 acre vineyard on sight which was planted in 2003 and added to in 2005. The winery makes 12 different varieties of wine ranging from fruit wines to several grape wines, all fermented and hand bottled by the owners and help from family members on sight. We have a tasting room open to the public and wine is sold on sight, as well as being in several local area grocery and gift stores. The wines we make are from Iowa grown grapes and fruit, which is either grown on the property or purchased from area vineyards. We also specialize in 2 very light, fruity style wines marketed to beginning wine drinkers and to people who enjoy drinking fun wines. Rosey Acres is open on Wednesday thru Sundays 11-4 pm January thru May, and will be open 11 am to 5 pm Wednesday thru Sunday during the remainder of the year. Please stop by and say hello and taste some wine.
